Photo Album

I have been working on a photo album of pictures from my daughter's wedding in July. The album is actually an old record album that I picked up at a thrift shop. I'm not sure how old it actually is, but the records are pretty thick and the whole thing weighs a ton!! There are ten record sleeves, so it involves covering both front and back of each sleeve and front and back of each record in each sleeve!!! Needless to say ~ it is taking FOREVER!! There is still a lot more work & embellishing to do, but it is coming along. :)In this next picture you can see the actual record pulled out (in the middle you are seeing through to the next page).

It's been fun...I recommend you give it a try!!

Today I made...

a box for my ribbons! (some of them, anyway)

Right now it is holding 19 spools of ribbon. I had them on a suspension rod on my bookshelf, but it kept falling down and drove me crazy. Anyway...I spent a good part of the day trying to organize all of my craft stuff.

AND...I started messing with the records I got (see previous post). I'm not finished yet and am not sure what the final outcome will look like or what I will do with it, so this is all you get to see for now :)

Look at what I found at the thrift shop this past week!

Lots and lots of vintage flowers (I'm only showing a small portion of what I have). Also, some really neat beads, some old crepe paper AND around 20 or 25 beaded hearts. Along with that..."Waltzing with Romberg!" I'm not sure that I really want to Waltz with Romberg, but look at what's inside that box!!!

FIVE records with the sleeves in perfect condition and look at the wonderful RED!!!!

OK!!! I must make something for Valentine's Day. Lots of ideas swirling in my head but nothing concrete yet. Think...think...think...

I'm Back...I Think...

After a LOOOONG break from blogging, I think it's time to get back into it!! Christmas & New Year's were great. My oldest daughter & her husband have been here this past week and it's been nice having them - I haven't gotten anything accomplished, but the break was much needed & thoroughly enjoyed!! We've had a few rough things to work through around here and I think that now I am ready to be "back at it."

To start off the New Year I have entered into Artsy Mama's swap. It's what I need to get me going. I'm anxious to get working on that and gather together some crafting supplies.

It's been fun seeing all of the Holiday inspiration online & reading of every ones' plans for the New Year!

There's been lots of this going on around here...

Keeps the kids busy during Christmas Break!!!
