We have lived in our current house for ten years. Several of the windows have been a bother to me the WHOLE time!! The living room window has looked like this...
The blinds were horrible and I never could get them open or shut without a major fight. I was unsure as to what I wanted there, so never gave it much thought and just did nothing. I have been inspired by several blogs and decided that it was time to stop fighting with the shades and add some warmth and color to this room!
This is what I came up with. I'm debating going back to the fabric store and getting more material to add just a bit of length to the bottom, but for now, it works. It makes the room seem much cozier to me. I don't know why I didn't do it before.

I don't know why I didn't do it before.I'm reading through the book "The House that Cleans Itself." It has gotten me motivated to declutter. I've gotten rid of BAGS of STUFF! I'm anxious to work my way throughout my whole house and purge; hopefully making upkeep and cleaning easier. Have any of you read it? If so, I'd love to hear how it helped you out.
