Cruising Along

...So, I'm cruising along on the way to recovery...I'm getting the hang of the new computer...we got a hard drive enclosure, and I was able to recover all of my old pictures and documents!!!!! I decided to bring my camera to church last Wednesday to take pictures/videos for a DVD that I'm making for the closing program for our Wednesday night kid's club. ANYWAY...I dropped my camera and it is no longer working. Electronics!!! What a bother! So, it's off to town (we live an hour from any civilization) this weekend to do some rummaging with my mom & sister, AND to look for a new camera. Hopefully when I get back I'll have lots of pictures of my thrifting finds to show you (and a camera with which to take those pictures!!)

Catching Up

I now have a new computer & am trying to get things organized...like pictures. Most of my pictures are still on the old hard drive & we are hoping that we can still retrieve them - we're working on that!! I had a lot of things that I wanted to blog about...lets see...

I love the tote bag, it is GREAT!!! Some of these pictures are not looking quite right and I don't really know why. Aaarrgghhh! It's taking forever to get things back together. We live on a hill & my friend Pam thinks maybe we live on some metal mine or something the way we get hit by lightening all the time. It might be worth looking into. :)

Right now I'm sitting at a row of four computers. My two daughters, son-in-law and I are catching up on the latest. But...it looks like Best Buy has a pretty good computer deal going on right now!!!

I've Been Blown Up

Last night as I was checking my email for "just a second" a bolt of lightening shot through our house and with a loud pop...there went the computer. I can't get it to turn on again. Aaaahhhhhh. I am at my friend Pam's house using her computer. I would love to join in her challenge, but that may be a challenge right now. :) Hopefully I'll be up and running soon.

Below is a picture of my mom, taken in 1936 - I'm taking a guess on the year, but it's a pretty educated guess!! I love this picture & it looks a lot like my daughter looked about 18 years ago. Some day I'm going to make something neat using this picture for each of my sisters. I have to find just the right thing, though...it will come to me!

Card / Photo Holders

While spending some time shopping in Wisconsin Dells last month, I came across several bags of wooden spools. I grabbed them knowing that I would use them for something. I added a few vintage embellishments (along with some non-vintage items) & this is what we have...These are perfect for holding a vintage card, your favorite photo, or the recipe you are currently concocting!! I'm adding these to my etsy shop now.

The Scent of Spring

Around here (northeastern Wisconsin), the smell of lilacs is the official "scent of spring." The lilacs won't be in bloom for a while here...so I'm doing what I can to bring on that spring feeling.
